Morgan was from Southeastern Kentucky.  Born in 1911 he played and sang in a style that was uninfluenced by modern mass media. He had numerous unusual tunings for the banjo and when he sang “Little Birdie” you knew you were hearing the real thing coming down through the generations and flying right out of Morgan.

Just look at his face…they don’t make these type of men anymore. He was a gem.
